If fabric could carry royal histories,
why couldn’t they also carry stories of equality and resistance?
ABSENCE IN TRADITIONAL TEXTILE HISTORY
Traditional patterns documented privilege.
Floral motifs dominated visual culture.
Marginalised histories rarely entered textile design.
Palm Print exists to create space for those stories.

THE CRAFT. THE STRUGGLE. THE CONNECTION.
The making of Mahad Print mirrors the story itself — difficult, layered, slow and persistent.
Discharge dyeing on dark fabric is a hit-and-miss process.
It demands patience, instinct, and an unwillingness to give up.
Discharge paste is prepared.
Block is printed with discharge paste.
Fabric is placed in steamer.
After steaming the colour starts to lift.
We check the shade after first steam.
If not the right shade, we re-print corrections.
Steamed again until the right shade appears.
Finally dried in shade to set print.
